The Table and Chair Affair

Portland non-profit, The Community Warehouse, does an awesome annual fundraiser called the Table and Chair Affair, where they invite local artists to select a table or chair from their inventory to transform into functional art. Once the transformations are complete the new artful furniture is auctioned off at a celebration dinner, with all the proceeds going to fund the non-profit furniture bank. They collect and redistribute donated furniture and household goods to neighbors in need.

This is the second year I've participated as an artist, and it's always a fun challenge. Plus, it's exciting to see how my style has changed since I painted my first chair two years ago.

Heres' how the chair looked when I picked it up in November.

Getting started.

Not a bad transformation for a little elbow grease and paint, eh? You can see it in person on April 17th at the Left Bank Annex in Portland on the Artist's Night or buy a ticket and attend the main event on April, 18th. You can also see my chair from 2013 here.
